Southern Counties East round-up: Unbeaten VCD make it eight wins out of nine while Whitstable fight back to draw at high-flying Holmesdale

VCD continued their relentless form at the top of the Southern Counties East Premier Division.

The unbeaten Vickers made it eight wins from nine, dropping only two points, with a 2-0 victory at Snodland.

Bethel Gboda broke the deadlock two minutes before the break and George Whitelock clinched victory midway through the second half.

Fellow unbeaten side Faversham climbed to third after beating Rusthall 2-0 at Salters Lane.

Johan Caney-Bryan set the Lilywhites on their way with a 12th-minute opener and in-form Tashi-Jay Kwayie secured the points after the break.

Whitstable fought back from 2-0 down to draw at second-placed Holmesdale.

Lewis Heywood-Oriogun and Don Macauley put the hosts in charge.

But Omotunmise Akanni gave the Oystermen hope and Harvey Smith levelled seven minutes from time.

Two late goals gave Larkfield & New Hythe a 3-1 success at Glebe.

Josh Jackson’s opener was cancelled out by a Jamie Philpott penalty on the stroke of half-time.

But Taylor Ibe restored the Larks’ lead on 84 minutes and Bryan Zepo struck two minutes into added time as Danny Lye’s men moved up seventh place.

Tunbridge Wells lost 2-1 at home to Bearsted but remain fifth.

Jesse Darko broke the deadlock before half-time and Samuel Stace added a second before Jack Walder’s injury-time consolation for Wells.

Hollands & Blair conceded an injury-time winner in a 3-2 home defeat by Fisher.

Devonte West put Blair in front but two goals in as many minutes from Courtney Barrington left them behind at the break.

Joshua Brooker appeared to have earned a point only for Barrington to complete his hat-trick.

Tunde Aderonmu gave Erith & Belvedere an early lead at Lydd but Ronnie Dolan’s second-half penalty secured a point for the hosts.
