Faversham Town kept the pressure on Southern Counties East Premier Division leaders VCD Athletic on Saturday.
Both teams posted comfortable home wins with just one points between them and seven games left to play.
First-half goals from Ben Gorham and Johan Caney-Bryan put Faversham on the way to a 3-0 victory over Sutton Athletic, Sam Hasler scoring early in the second half.
Strike Ollie Freeman bagged a brace for VCD in their 4-0 triumph at home to Glebe. Late goals from substitutes Charlie Heatley and Liam Gillies wrapped up the points.
Rusthall extended their unbeaten run to 14 games, Kalani Barton’s goal enough to secure a 1-0 victory over Stansfeld.
Punjab United ran out 2-1 winners at home to bottom side Lydd, Roman Campbell’s penalty and Jack Hopkins proving enough despite Jerson Dos Santos’ equaliser.
Whitstable’s unbeaten league run extended to nine matches following another late winner at Erith & Belvedere. Harvey Smith’s goal two minutes from time was the difference between the teams as the visitors made their second-half dominance count.
Larkfield & New Hythe lost ground despite leading 2-0 and 3-1 against Holmesdale. The visitors scored twice in the last five minutes to run out 4-3 winners.
Harrison Carnegie and Matt Day put Larkfield in charge but Nathaniel Murray reduced the deficit before half-time.
Kieron McCann restored Larkfield’s two-goal advantage but substitute Mecca Samuels pulled one back, Sam Bayford equalised from the penalty spot on 85 minutes and then scored the winner in stoppage time.
Bearsted and Hollands & Blair both picked up wins to move away from the bottom two.
All the goals came in the second half as Bearsted beat Corinthian 3-2, Jess Darko, Robbie Roberts and Nathan Light on target
