Southern Counties East League Premier Division weekend round-up as Faversham Town, Larkfield & New Hythe, Punjab United, Sutton Athletic and Kennington get wins

Title-chasing Faversham left it late to beat Bearsted at home on Saturday.

With Southern Counties East Premier Division leaders VCD in FA Vase action, progressing in that competition, Tommy Warrilow’s team had the perfect chance to keep the pressure on - but went behind to an Eniola Hassan goal midway through the second period.

Defender Matt Newman got the Lilywhites level on 78 minutes at Salters Lane, though, and playmaker Nathan Wood struck with six minutes to play as Faversham were 2-1 winners in front of a crowd of 307.

The result leaves them a point behind VCD and with a game in hand.

Larkfield & New Hythe piled more misery on basement boys Lydd, securing a 2-1 triumph over them at home.

Experienced forward Jerson Dos Santos gave Nicky Southall’s side the lead on the 67th minute.

But Tyrell Richardson swiftly levelled and Harrison Carnegie got the all-important third goal in the 77th minute.
