Southern Counties East League Premier Division weekend round-up includes wins for Kennington, Phoenix Sports and Chislehurst Glebe

Hythe’s fears of a second straight relegation worsened as they lost their crunch bottom-of-the-table Southern Counties East League Premier Division game to Chislehurst Glebe on Saturday.

Striker Jamie Philpot netted in the fourth minute for the visitors at Reachfields and attacking midfielder Nathan Mampono consigned Darren Beale’s hapless Cannons to a 2-0 defeat with a second Chislehurst Glebe goal early in the second period.

Second-placed Larkfield & New Hythe drew 2-2 at fellow play-off occupants Sutton Athletic.

Wideman Tyler Ibe got both of the visitors’ goals in the first period, with an 83rd-minute effort by Sutton Athletic substitute Enoch Muwonge rescuing them a point after defender Namory Kane had made it 1-1 in between Ibe’s two goals.

The hosts also had earlier lost Omotunmise Akanni to two second-half cautions in quick succession.

Fourth-placed Bearsted snatched a point from a topsy-turvy 2-2 home draw against Tunbridge Wells.

Midfielder James Bessey-Saldanha put Kevin Stevens’ side ahead, only for second-half strikes for Deshon Carty and Muiz Alaka to put the away team 2-1 in front.

But the Bears ensured a share of the spoils when midfielder Billy Lewins got their second against his former club in the 92nd minute.

Hollands & Blair were undone by two goals in five minutes in a 2-0 loss at Erith & Belvedere.

Faversham Strike Force came from behind as they drew 2-2 at home against Snodland to boost their survival prospects.

Efforts by Emmanuel Shoderu and Dan Vaughan put the visitors in command but Harry Taylor came up with two second-half strikes for Stuart Benfield’s side.

Kennington were 3-0 winners at Corinthian.
