Sources: Leeds United very open to Ipswich deal if new signing arrives

Leeds United’s lack of options at left-back is hampering Ipswich Town‘s pursuit of Leif Davis but the Whites will be very open to selling the 22-year-old to the League One club if they strengthen at the position, sources have exclusively informed Football League World.

With both Junior Firpo and Stuart Dallas set to miss the start of the season due to injury, Davis is currently the only out-and-out left-back in Jesse Marsch’s senior squad.

Sources have informed Football League World that Leeds’ lack of numbers at the position is proving an obstacle in Ipswich’s pursuit of the defender, which is ongoing.

However, FLW understands that if the Elland Road outfit sign someone in that position then they will be very open to selling him to the Tractor Boys.

Davis joined Bournemouth on loan last season but was little more than a bit-part player – featuring 15 times as he helped them win promotion to the Premier League.

Should Ipswich sign him, he would be the second left-back added to Kieran McKenna’s squad this summer after the arrival of Greg Leigh.

McKenna also has 24-year-old Matt Penney as an option on the left side of defence.
