Souness pleads with Rangers fans to 'behave' in Spain
Graeme Souness has pleaded with Rangers fans to "behave yourselves" at the Europa League final in Seville on Wednesday night.
In a message posted on the club's social media account, which has since been followed by another from fellow Gers great Richard Gough, Souness has asked the club’s supporters to consider their actions in the run-up to the game.
Tens of thousands of supporters are expected to travel from Glasgow to Spain for the final with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Many are without tickets, with Frankfurt fans in a similar scenario.
Around 200,000 Rangers fans travelled to the host city of Manchester for the 2008 UEFA Cup final, leading to chaotic scenes and close to 40 arrests.
While numbers visiting Spain will be smaller, there are fears there could be a repeat of those incidents.
In his message, the former Rangers player and manager uses the word "behave" on four occasions.
He said: "This is a message for everyone going to Seville.
"Go there, have a super time. Our team has done incredibly well getting there.
"When you think of the journey we've been on for the last ten years to be now playing in a serious European final, it's a fantastic achievement.
"They've done their bit, now it's your turn. You have to turn up and behave yourselves. Have a party, but behave yourselves.
"You're going there as an ambassador for this great football club. You must go there and behave, otherwise we'll have all the trashy headlines which can damage us for a long, long time.
"Please go there and behave yourselves. Have a super time."
