Sonic Origins: File size revealed on Nintendo Switch

Sonic Origins is set to release later this month on Nintendo Switch, with the game available on June 23rd, 2022.

The game is set to redefine the classic releases of Sonic down the years.

This is a multi-game collection that is going to include the 2D Sonic games that were releases on SEGA Genesis and Mega Drive consoles.

Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3, and Sonic and Knuckles CD are being digitally remastered for the release.

This is a game developed by SEGA, and you’ll also have the ability to customise your playthrough, depending on how you want to experience the game.

It has classic and anniversary modes, and will give you the chance to play in the style of the old games with the former, or a more updated style in the latter.

You can also unlock a number of new missions as well as a museum and the file size for the game has now been revealed.

The game will also have its own story mode with missions, although you’ll only be able to play as Sonic in that mode.

As per Nintendo Life, the Digital Deluxe Version of Sonic Origins comes in at 3.8GB, while the ordinary version is just a tiny bit smaller, at 3.5GB.

This release, of course, is a collection of games, rather than just the one release, so one may well have expected this to be a little more on the chunky side.

However, it’s worth noting that Sonic Mania, by comparison, is 390MB, while Hollow Knight is also much smaller than Sonic Origins.

As a result, you might well need to clean up your SD Card in order to play with Sonic and friends later this month, but you’ve got plenty of time to do so!
