Something special stirs at Falkirk as 'magnificent' Bairns down Jekyll and Hyde Hearts to get John McGlynn beaming

John McGlynn hailed his Falkirk heroes after humbling Jekyll and Hyde Hearts in a horror show for the Jambos.

The Tynecastle men blew a barrowload of early chances before the Bairns took charge – and sent then spinning out of the competition in style. Ethan Ross shocked the away end with the opener 10 minutes into the second period. That knocked the stuffing out of Steven Naismith’s side and it was no shock when Dylan Tait put the tie to bed with nine minutes to go.

McGlynn was thrilled to blast into the last eight. The Bairns boss said: “Great. The boys were absolutely magnificent. They just turn out performance after performance so I’m delighted with them. There’s something stirring at Falkirk. McGlynn’s men are off to a flier in the Championship after promotion and have now taken out one of the top flight’s big beasts in the cup. McGlynn said: “The guys have belief in themselves.

“You don’t go on a run like we are on if you don’t have belief. They just continuously achieve. We don’t go shouting about it that much but we are a tight bunch. We had 4600 Falkirk fans in here today. The atmosphere was great and our fans have gone away very happy.”

The same couldn’t be said for
