Soccer Aid fans distracted by Danny Dyer's moustache as they compare Eastenders star to famous singer

Soccer Aid has brought back some famous faces from both showbiz and support.

Among them is TV star Danny Dyer who is most known for playing Mick Carter in Eastenders as well as hosting The Wall and Cheat. But some viewers noticed that while his face is familiar as a whole, it has a new addition which can't be ignored.

The 45-year-old appeared on the small screen with a noticeably large moustache. Some viewers are even comparing his new look to that of Freddie Mercury.

However, many viewers may be unaware that there is a good reason Dyer has sported a new 'tache. In fact, he's grown the facial hair as part of a new series he's set to star in with David Tennant.

He has been involved in the filming for the upcoming Disney+ series Rivals, based on the Jilly Cooper novel that shares the same name. In the series, Dyer will play the role of Freddie Jones.

Announcing the series last year, Disney+ said: "Rivals dives headfirst into the cutthroat world of independent television in 1986, where the shoulder pads are big and ambitions even bigger."
