Sky Sports pundit makes Nottingham Forest loan player prediction

Nottingham Forest have been told that they will have big Premier League clubs knocking on their door to take their youngsters on loan. 

Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a positive season under Steve Cooper this season which has seen a number of youngsters flourish under the former Swansea manager.

That goes from academy graduates to loan players from other clubs.

This season alone has seen loan players flourish at the City Ground, with James Garner returning for his second stint and Keinan Davis providing everything a number nine provides to a forward line.

That’s before Djed Spence has even been mentioned. His partnership down the right hand side has seen many teams fall to Forest, including the likes of Arsenal and Leicester in the FA Cup.

This form and development of younger players has led to former Forest man and Sky Sports pundit David Prutton predicting that more Premier League clubs will be getting in touch with Cooper about taking their youngsters.

In speaking to the Garibaldi Red podcast, he said: “You look at the players Steve got on loan at Swansea like Marc Guehi and Rhian Brewster. You’d heard a bit about them, but you watch them in real time and think ‘oh my word’.

“He’s doing the same thing with players at Forest. Hopefully this is a moot point and Forest are in the Premier League next year.

“But if they aren’t then big, big Premier League clubs can go to Steve and say ‘can you help develop these’ and that’s beneficial for Forest as well.”

It’s perhaps surprising that there wasn’t more links in January to other youngsters given the development of the likes of Conor Gallagher, Marc Guehi and now Djed Spence and Keinan Davis under Cooper.
