Pundit now drops interesting Leeds vs Chelsea prediction before vital clash

Ex-Leeds United midfielder Carlton Palmer is backing his former side to pull off a shock result when they take on Chelsea on Wednesday.

Thomas Tuchel’s men have not been in the best form of late, and Palmer is expecting the Whites to take advantage of that as they look to beat the drop.

In truth, both Leeds and Chelsea have not performed well over the last couple of weeks, though Jesse Marsch will be the more concerned man given the predicament his side are in.

Last time out, they lost 2-1 to Arsenal, with Luke Ayling seeing red at the Emirates, while a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City came prior. It means they have taken just one point from their last three fixtures, a run that has plunged them into the relegation zone.

As for Chelsea, they are hardly doing any better, drawing and losing their last two games against Wolves and Everton respectively.

Like their upcoming opponents, they have also lost against Arsenal recently, a 4-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge that has helped put the Gunners in contention to finish third ahead of them.

In Palmer’s eyes, Chelsea are already on the beach, giving Leeds an excellent chance to pick up a huge three points at Elland Road on Wednesday night.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about the fixture, the ex-Whites star said: “Leeds have Chelsea at home, and I think Chelsea are already on the beach, so that’s a game that they could get a result out of. And then Leeds have got Brighton at home and then Brentford away, which are winnable games on paper.”
