Sittingbourne manager Reece Prestedge brings Antonio Morgan back to the club as Elijah Anthony returns to Ebbsfleet United

It’s one in, one out for Sittingbourne in their pursuit of an Isthmian South East play-off place.

Elijah Anthony has gone back to parent club Ebbsfleet after two months on loan with the Brickies.

The youngster’s departure has been followed by the return of Antonio Morgan, who had a brief spell at the club last season.

Anthony was a clear talent but manager Reece Prestedge couldn’t offer regular football.

“The game time hadn’t been as much as he wanted,” said Prestedge. “I had a chat with him and I pretty much said, ‘you deserve more game time, which I can’t offer you right now’.

Morgan has rejoined Sittingbourne from Welling, who are managed by ex-Brickies boss Ryan Maxwell.

He was on the bench for the 2-0 defeat at Eastbourne Town on Saturday and started last night’s 3-0 win at Erith Town.

“Antonio was here towards the end of last season,” said Prestedge.

“Winger-wise and as cover for Bagasan Graham at left-back, we’re happy to get that one done.

“We don’t want to leave ourselves short for the run-in.”

The Brickies retained fourth spot after winning their rearranged game at Erith.

Derek Asamoah scored twice on his return to the starting XI and Ben Swift – sent off at Eastbourne – clinched the points.

They host Herne Bay in a Kent derby at Woodstock this Saturday (3pm), with all to play for in the race for a play-off spot.

Four clubs - the Brickies, Jersey, Faversham and Deal - are playing for two spots - while Margate can’t be ruled out if they win their game in hand.

“There won’t be any easy games,” said
