Ebbsfleet United manager Josh Wright says they’re back in the National League South title race after derby win over Dover Athletic

Ebbsfleet manager Josh Wright admitted they’re right back in the National League South title race.

In what Wright described as a “crazy” division, the Fleet made it three wins on the spin on Monday to climb up to fourth, just four points behind new leaders Worthing, with three games left to play.

The Fleet still have it all to do with away matches against fifth-placed Hornchurch this Saturday and Worthing on the final day, either side of hosting Hampton & Richmond.

But, having seemingly played themselves out of contention more than once at various stages of the campaign, it’s game-on as far as Wright is concerned.

“We're in a really good place,” said the Fleet boss. “We're in really good form, right in amongst the top of the form guide now, and we have been for a little while.

“We've just got to keep going but we can't look too far ahead. We can't look at what's what and what can we go and achieve.

“But, all of a sudden, I don't mind sitting here and saying that we set out for a goal at the start of the season and we're in with a shout. We're in with a big shout.

“You can talk play-offs and you can talk going for the number one spot because we know we've got to play Hornchurch.

“Worthing have just gone top and we know we've got to play them last game of the season. In the middle of that, it's going to be a really tough home game against Hampton here.

“We're four points now off the top but at the same time, you look around what's in the play-offs as well.

“All we can do - as I keep repeating myself - is one game at a time, and all we can do is keep trying to win those games.”

On the battle for promotion, with just eight points separating the top 10 sides, Wright admitted: “It's just become crazy again, and it's so tight
