Sittingbourne manager Nick Davis says his side will be taking the game to Burgess Hill

Sittingbourne intend to go on the attack as they look for a first win in eight Isthmian South East games.

The Brickies have an early start this Saturday, travelling to Sussex to face Burgess Hill in a 12.30pm kick-off.

It will be the sides’ second meeting this season, with Bourne beaten 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the FA Trophy in September.

Victory at Leylands Park would see Bourne leapfrog the hosts in the table.

“Every game’s tough but we’re going to go for it,” said Brickies boss Davis, whose side are 15th after drawing 1-1 with Lancing on Saturday.

“We want to try and win the game and get the three points.

“We’ve played them already in the FA Trophy, and that one could have gone either way.

“Penalties was probably a fair outcome but you can’t gauge anything from that because cup games are different.

“At the end of the day, we’ve not been bad away from home. We just want to get the next game on.”

Striker Duane Ofori-Acheampong should be fit after sitting out the Lancing draw with a tight hamstring.

That will be a big boost to the visitors’ chances, while Youssef Bamba, who opened the scoring at the weekend, is finding his feet nicely since arriving from VCD.

“Had Duane played, and done more damage, we might have lost him for a few weeks,” said Davis.

“He did the warm-up but he said it wasn’t right, so we left him out, but he should be OK for the weekend.

“That was Bamba’s second goal for us against Lancing and hopefully he’ll go on a run.

“He gets in positions where he looks like he’s going to score, whether it’s left foot or right foot, and he creates opportunities.

“You need players like that on the pitch - he’s a matchwinner.”
