Sir Alex Ferguson leaves Old Trafford after attending Manchester United meeting with Ineos

Sir Alex Ferguson has left Old Trafford after attending a meeting with key members of the Manchester United leadership team on Monday.

Co-owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Joel Glazers were at Old Trafford for a series of meetings the day after United's winless run extended to five games with a draw at Aston Villa. Chief executive Omar Berrada was also present, as was Ineos head of sport Sir Dave Brailsford.

Glazer was set to attend a meeting of the Fans' Advisory Board on Monday afternoon and there were also discussions planned around the stadium project, with former United defender Gary Neville, a key member of the Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force also present.

Berrada, Ferguson and Neville all left Old Trafford via the main entrance late on Monday afternoon. The Ineos delegation had arrived for the meetings on the main forecourt but had their cars moved to the back of the stadium so they could depart away from the glare of fans milling around near the megastore.

United have said the Monday meetings had long been planned and there is also a scheduled executive committee meeting in London tomorrow. That will be attended by Ratcliffe, Glazer, Brailsford, Berrada and football leaders Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox.

Erik ten Hag hasn't been present as he continues to fight for his future as manager. The pressure is mounting on the Dutchman who has overseen just three wins from the first 11 games of the season.
