Sinkhole appears at Brazil’s Interlagos Circuit
There are images doing the rounds online of a sinkhole in the track at Interlagos, home of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Formula 1 drivers are accustomed to tackling a few bumps in the road as they power around circuits, but it is safe to say that a big hole in the tarmac itself would be way over the line.
It seems though that this issue has indeed cropped up at Interlagos, with a picture of a big sinkhole in the track appearing on social media.
The sinkhole in question it seems has occurred at Turn 6, also known as Ferradura.

Okay, on a serious note, various reports state that according to a spokesman for the local motoring federation, the sinkhole has been caused by a leak in the drainage system.
Fortunately though, it is expected to be a quick fix.
Incredibly, it did not even put a stop to the racing action taking place, which included the São Paulo State IndyCar Series and the Brazilian Formula Vee series.
