Simon Jordan slaughters 'weak' Brendan Rodgers as Leicester told boss will jump if nightmare scenario unfolds

Simon Jordan slammed Brendan Rodgers for "saying one thing and doing another" - and says there's no chance the "weak" Leicester boss would stick around if they went down.

Rodgers has mostly been a roaring success at Leicester since returning to the Premier League from Celtic but his time there hasn't been without its highs and lows and he's enduring a low point this season. The Foxes secured back-to-back fifth placed finishes in his first two full seasons in charge and also won the FA Cup in 2021, but they now face relegation and sit just one point ahead of 18th-placed West Ham, who have a game in hand.

Jordan expects Leicester to have enough to beat the drop and insists he's been a defender of Rodgers when he has been criticised in the past. But that hasn't spared the Irishman from some scathing criticism as Jordan laid into him for apparent hypocrisy and insists he would jump ship in a heartbeat if they were to go down.

He said on talkSPORT: “I was not one of the detractors that felt the decline at Liverpool after their opportunity to win the Premier League should be used to diminish him. I think he did a great job at Celtic, and at the beginning of his time with Leicester he won them an FA Cup that they’d never won before.

“I do think he’s been weak. He’s been constantly politicking his way around interviews. He’s been saying one thing and doing another. He started off last year saying there was going to be a sea change at Leicester after that appalling performance at Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. Since that point everything has gone backwards. They’ve been a poor side.

“When Maddison is out of the mix, that’s been a huge part of the equation. Constantly selling their best players doesn’t help anybody at all. If
