Simon Jordan gives brutal Lee Bowyer verdict after claims of Birmingham City’s ref justice

Simon Jordan has taken a swipe at Lee Bowyer after the Birmingham City boss has claimed referees have cost his side ten points this season.

The talkSPORT pundit took aim at the Blues’ boss over his on-going remarks about referees, feeling hard done to by officiating and claims that he's received letters amounting to double figures from the refereeing authorities apologising for mistakes.

Only last week Bowyer fumed after referee Leigh Doughty awarded Millwall a last minute penalty to deny his side the full three points with 98 minutes on the clock.

And at this week’s pre-match press conference the Blues boss said: “There have been certain decisions in certain games and these are things out of our control. If we go back to Saturday and see the penalty situation and that cost us two points.

"I think we’re in double figures for apology letters, and they are not just for small things, they are for things like Saturday. There’s loads – I can’t think of them all off the top of my head – but they are big moments, goal scoring opportunities and stuff like that, so if you took half of them away we would probably have another ten points on the board.”

Jim White, host of talkSPORT’s mid morning show, said: “We have a seemingly creeping apologist nature from the footballing authorities which is bound to be causing concern.

Guest and pundit Martin Keown said: “Well, they are just apologising for mistakes they have made. I think the biggest mistake they have made is writing to Lee Bowyer, because he’s made it public. It’s quite a big thing to do to admit mistakes.”
