Simon Jordan gets tough on Rangers over Champions League reality as he warns Celtic cash will leave them behind

Simon Jordan has warned Rangers they must not blow another chance to reap the financial rewards of Champions League qualification. Two goals down from the first leg, Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's side face Union Saint-Gilloise at Ibrox on Tuesday night as they look to manoeuvre their group stage quest back on track.

A place at the continent's top table also brings a potential £40m jackpot, one which Celtic are already set to bank after winning last season's Premiership title. Rangers tumbled in qualifying last summer, too, as Steven Gerrard's men were shocked by Swedish champions Malmo.

And with the UEFA riches already guaranteed across the city at Celtic Park, talkSPORT pundit Jordan insists Rangers cannot afford to pass up the chance to match their rivals in the money stakes. No Ibrox side has ever overturned a two-goal first leg deficit in European football, but Jordan said: "This is on Rangers. How many chances do you want to match up the finances Celtic are getting the benefit of in the Champions League?

"You've got to deal with this game and come through this because you won't, necessarily, have another opportunity. Well, you won't get another opportunity, you'll waste a £30-40million opportunity and give it to Celtic."

A playoff tie awaits either Rangers or Union at the conclusion of this week's second leg, with either Monaco or PSV Eindhoven the opponents for the victor.
