Significant disruption on train lines after vehicle hits bridge
There was significant disruption on train lines after a car crashed into a bridge. National Rail say that a vehicle struck a bridge between Lydney and Gloucester.
It meant that a line was blocked, and, as a result, trains operating between these stations were delayed by up to 60 minutes or cancelled.
The routes affected were CrossCountry services between Paignton / Bristol Temple Meads and Manchester Piccadilly, between Cardiff Central and Birmingham New Street / Nottingham, between Plymouth and Newcastle / Edinburgh / Plymouth, and also between Penzance and Edinburgh.
The Transport for Wales service between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa was also affected. Read the biggest stories in Wales first by signing up to our daily newsletter here
