'Show them what they're missing' - Bolton's Dion Charles sent message ahead of Accrington return

Ian Evatt does not believe Dion Charles will be phased by his return to Accrington Stanley with Bolton Wanderers this weekend as h backed the striker to be on form in front of goal this weekend.

This Saturday will see striker Charles return back to the Wham Stadium for the first time since his departure from Stanley to Bolton in the January transfer window for an undisclosed fee. The Northern Ireland international has scored 13 goals in 36 games for Wanderers so far.

He departed Stanley after not featuring for the club since early September last season. Accrington boss John Coleman said there was a 'Mexican stand-off' regarding his contract at the East Lancashire side, which would have expired over the summer just gone.

Though it has been a few games since Charles last scored and has had chances to find the back of the net in the last three League One games, Evatt is backing the striker to takes his opportunities and show his old employers what they are missing. After a 1-0 loss there last December, Evatt wants his side to lay some ghosts to rest.

He said: “For all of us, I think we have all got something to prove on Saturday. I think it is a wonderful opportunity to go out there and lay a few ghosts to rest and for Dion to go back there and show them what they are missing.

"He has had a lean spell in front of goal other than penalties. He has had the chances, but there is no better place for him personally to go out there and take his chance on Saturday.
