Shota Arveladze speaks out on West Brom’s Steve Bruce ahead of Hull City return

Hull City head coach Shota Arveladze says ex-Hull boss Steve Bruce will receive a warm welcome tomorrow as the former boss prepares to visit with his new side West Brom.

19th placed Hull face a visit from 13th placed West Brom tomorrow afternoon and although Hull fans will be hoping to beat their opponents, Arveladze says the former boss who took Hull to two promotions and an FA Cup final will be welcomed.

He told the Yorkshire Post: “It is always nice when someone has such a [long] career as a coach and football player.

“He [Bruce] is a huge name who is coming back and I believe the home supporters at the stadium will give him respect and passion as they love football and names who have done so much for English football.

“I believe he will get good applause and a reception and he deserves it. He had a thousand games under his belt and I am sure his reception will be a good one.”

Hull are looking for a much needed win to build off their victory at Peterborough last weekend and allow them to start climbing up the table.

Arveladze has credited the part the fans have to play in their team’s success as he said: “We know the energy that your own supporters can give you.

“They have followed us in away games and don’t let us feel alone and we feel the energy to give us unbelievable adrenalin.

“We must look forward and do what we did last Saturday.”

The Verdict:

Steve Bruce is a well respected man in Hull after what he did for the team during his time there and it’s good to see that he will get the warm welcome he deserves on Saturday’s game.

Arveladze clearly has a lot of time for the manager and I’m sure before and after the game we will see the two bosses exchange their respect for one another.
