Shota Arveladze reveals his Hull City starting XI to face Cardiff City

Shota Arveladze decided to make one change to his Hull City side for the Good Friday clash with Cardiff City at the MKM Stadium, bringing in Lewie Coyle at the expense of Ryan Longman, who dropped to the bench - and there was a change to the colour of the Tigers' strip.

City were 1-0 winners at play-off hopefuls Middlesbrough last Saturday, and as he looks to end a woeful run of six straight defeats at the MKM Stadium, Arveladze was expected to entrust the same eleven to avoid a club-record seventh successive home loss but has decided to make a solitary change while also switching from the home kit to away.

Iranian star Allahyar Sayyadmanesh retains his place up front and will make his full home league debut after impressing on his first start at the Riverside Stadium supported by Keane Lewis-Potter, though Tom Eaves returns from suspension to take his place on the bench. Elsewhere, midfield general Richie Smallwood anchors the midfield with Regan Slater, allowing George Honeyman to operate in the number 10 position with Brandon Fleming and Coyle deployed in the wing-back roles.

Despite fit-again Nathan Baxter pushing for a recall, Matt Ingram retains his place in goal after a string of fine performances, with Player of the Season contender Jacob Greaves, Sean McLoughlin and Alfie Jones continuing to hold down their defensive positions.
