Lost the ball 35 times, 16 duels lost, 0 tackles: Rangers' three worst players despite Braga win

Glasgow Rangers went through to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League with a 3-1 win at home on Thursday night.

Two goals from James Tavernier and one from Kemar Roofe in extra-time was enough to see off Braga in the end, who had two men sent off.

It was not always plain-sailing for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team at Ibrox, as Braga managed to take the game to extra-time late on despite being a man light, while they were guilty of squandering a lot of chances, managing a whopping 31 shots on goal in total, but only five on target.

As such, The Transfer Tavern have now used statistical experts SofaScore to analyse who the three worst performers (to have played at least 45 minutes) were for the hosts on the night – could these men be looking over their shoulders regarding their places in GvB’s XI?

Given a 6.8 overall rating, Bassey ranked as the Teddy Bears’ third-worst player.

The central defender lost out on four of his duels, while he also failed to record a single interception or tackle, and gave the ball away a total of 18 times.

Despite his goal in extra-time, Roofe was only given a 6.7 rating.

The striker lost a team-high 12 of his duels, and was also off target with three of his other efforts on goal, missing two big chances in the process.

Roofe also made no successful dribbles, interceptions, tackles or key passes, and committed a team-high three fouls, losing possession ten times in total.

Perhaps unluckily given he did not have too much to do, McGregor was ranked as the Light Blues’ worst performer with a 6.5 rating.

The goalkeeper did concede from one of the only two shots on target that he faced though, and gave the ball away needlessly on seven separate occasions.
