Shopping centre apologises after hundreds of customers stuck in car park for hours

A shopping centre in Cardiff has issued an apology after hundreds of people were stuck for hours in a multi-storey car park traffic situation.

Motorists were queueing for as long as four hours on Saturday (July 29) at the St David's car park. Some even chose to abandon their cars altogether until the nightmare was sorted.

Issues began in the afternoon and it wasn't until late evening that the 2,000-space car park had returned to normal. Drivers could reportedly be seen shouting, swearing, and blasting their horns.

A St David's spokesperson said: "We’re aware guests have experienced issues exiting our car park and are really sorry to hear how frustrating this has been.
