Shohei Ohtani 'already thinking' about winning third straight Dodgers World Series

Will Smith sat down with the "MLB on FOX" crew to discuss the Los Angeles Dodgers' Game 7 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 World Series.

Shohei Ohtani has two World Series rings in his first two seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, not to mention he’s likely to win back-to-back NL MVP Awards.

But the two-way Japanese superstar is already thinking about the next time his squad will lift the World Series trophy.

Ohtani was enjoying his time with his teammates, coaches and all of Dodgers Nation on Monday in Los Angeles, as the World Series champions celebrated their Game 7 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. It was an extra-inning thriller that ended with the Dodgers retaining their title after defeating the New York Yankees in 2024.

"I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to do this," he said via an interpreter.

The last team to do it was the Yankees from 1998-2000, which was the third time in franchise history the feat had been accomplished (1936-38 and 1949-53). The Oakland Athletics also did so from 1972-74.
