Sheffield Wednesday 'want' Mika Biereth on loan in move that will have Motherwell fans in cold sweat

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly considering a move to snatch Mika Biereth from Motherwell in this window.

The Arsenal kid is currently on loan at Fir Park and has had a hugely impressive stint at Fir Park since his summer move north.

And The Star are reporting that The Owls could swoop to bring Biereth back south in a move that would require the termination of his loan agreement with Motherwell.

Arsenal have loaned the Danish striker to the Steelmen on a season-long loan, but have the option to recall their player at any point.

Should the Gunners feel Biereth's development would be best served at Hillsborough in the English Championship, that could open the door for a move that would leave the Fir Park faithful reeling, amid their struggles at the bottom end of the Scottish Premiership.

The Star state that Biereth "is a name the club are interested in bringing to Hillsborough for the second half of the season."

Biereth's contributions have been key this term with the 20-year-old involved in 11 of Motherwell's goals in 15 appearances, netting on six occasions. He has managed that despite missing a chunk of the first half of the season through injury.

Motherwell return to action after the winter break this weekend when they host Alloa in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
