Sheffield United receive player boost ahead of next game v Stoke City

Sheffield United have received some positive news with The Star reporting that George Baldock should be able to take part in their next game against Stoke.

The player has featured in 20 Championship games for the Blades so far this campaign and has managed three goal contributions from the right flank to boot. He remains a regular starter for the side and with the club desperate to achieve promotion, they’ll need as many of their first-team stars as fit as possible.

Baldock did feature last time around for Paul Heckingbottom in the club’s 2-0 win over Barnsley. However, there may have been some concerns over the 29-year-old after that appearance with the manager revealing that he wasn’t entirely fit to feature in that league game.

Despite fears that he might have put himself out of the running for their game against the Potters by playing in that victory, the good news from The Star today is that it appears he should be able to line-up for the Blades in their next Championship outing against Michael O’Neill’s side.

With Baldock having played a prominent role for Sheffield United during their run to Premier League promotion and then during their stay in the top flight, his experience and know-how could certainly prove vital as they try to emulate that feat again this campaign.

It is crucial then that they have him available for use going forward at such a key point in the season – and the good news for the Blades and their fans is that it looks like he will be able to carry on playing for now.
