Paul Heckingbottom praises Sheffield United youngster after impressing in Scunthorpe defeat
Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom has praised 18-year-old Oliver Arblaster, after the youngster impressed in the 3-2 defeat to Scunthorpe United.
The Blades were 3-0 down to the National League side by half-time, but they pulled goals back in the second period through Rhian Brewster and Iliman Ndiaye.
Midfielder Arblaster was one of the bright sparks in the performance, with Oliver Norwood replacing the lifelong Blades fan just after the hour mark.
"The performance wasn't great, but valuable minutes," said Heckingbottom. "Some good individual moments. I was really pleased with 'Blaster today.
"We couldn't take him away to Portugal. He had a knock on his ankle, so we have to leave him behind to get fit. We want to use him, we want to get him experience and training around the players.
"I keep saying that I think he's going to be a good player for Sheffield United, and people could see moments of that today. I was really pleased with that and it's a great experience for him. It went well for him today. He'll take a lot from that."
