Sheffield United could have another international youngster on their books amid possible call-up
Are Sheffield United about to have yet another international youngster on their books?
According to reports in West Africa, 20-year-old goalkeeper Jordan Yamoah Amissah is being monitored by Ghana over a potential call-up.
The German-born Ghanaian is on a list of goalkeepers currently being watched as the Black Stars' look to find a new number one.
Current shot-stopper Richard Ofori is struggling with injuries and replacement Jojo Wollacott has failed to impress.
Other keepers have tried to fill the void but performances have been underwhelming and its led to the coaching team needing to review their goalkeeping set-up.
Coach Richard Kingson recently said as many as 15 shot-stoppers are being monitored and Ghanasoccerne.com is claiming Amissah is one of those.
Having spent time in the junior ranks at Bochum, Schalke and Borussia Dortmund, Amissah joined Sheffield United in 2018.
He recently enjoyed a loan spell at Spennymoor United and has been a regular fixture in the under 23s, helping them to the league title last season.
He has travelled with the first team squad this season, and was with the travelling party for the 1-0 win at Fulham in December.
United have a host of young players in their academy who already have international honours at junior level, with Will Osula the latest following his call-up to Denmark under 19s.
And Amissah could well be the next.
