Shawn Michaels tried to stop ex-WWE star using his signature move

Shawn Michaels is widely recognised as one of the best WWE Superstars ever, with some even calling him the GOAT.

Part of being with the best is protecting your brand and presentation, and it seems like that’s something that Michaels did.

During his time with WWE, Shawn used the ‘Sweet Chin Music’ as his finishing move, which if you haven’t seen it, was essentially just a superkick.

Because that was his finishing move and because he was a top star, it’s been claimed that Michaels asked other members of the WWE roster to not use superkicks in their matches.

Rene Dupree has claimed on his podcast that Michaels asked fellow former WWE Superstar Tajiri to not use the move during his matches.

Dupree stated that Tajiri had “some of the best f***ing kicks in the business”, which could explain why Shawn wanted him to stop doing them:

“He pulled Tajiri aside and told him to stop doing his kicks. Tajiri had some of the best f***ing kicks in the business, period. But because they looked so good and that’s Shawn’s finish, he wanted him to stop doing it.”

Dupree went on to claim that this wasn’t the only issue with Michaels, who was unhappy about someone using his and Triple H‘s taunt during a WWE tryout.

He claims that the former WWE Champion took the issue up with John Laurinaitis, WWE’s Head of Talent relations, who told the wrestler to “get the f*** out of the building”.

“As soon as he got to the back, John lectured him and said, ‘Did you do the DX crotch gimmick?“ The guy’s like, ‘What the f*ck you talking about? I just fired up.’ He watched the tape back and then John pointed out that he did it, told him to get his bags, and get the f*ck out of the building.”
