Seth Rollins' brilliant mid-match comment to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 38

Seth Rollins was craving an appearance on Saturday night’s WWE WrestleMania 38 card, but after every request, he was seemingly unsuccessful.

That was until the boss Vince McMahon offered him one on one basis – the opponent would be hand-picked by him. 

It was not until on the night that Rollins found out who his opponent would be, and it turned out to be none other than Cody Rhodes. 

Rhodes’ last brawl at WrestleMania came in 2016 before being released that same year. Since then, he has performed in various promotions worldwide. 

It was a surreal moment for fans seeing Rhodes return to WWE, especially since the former two-time Intercontinental Champion formed All Elite Wrestling in 2019.  

The three-time champion for AEW said to Variety: “I chose to remain silent about my departure from AEW and I’m going to keep my word on that. There’s no shoot interview. There’s no nefarious tale that’s going to be told. There were all these different theories and none of them are correct.

“I mean, there were things about money and creative control. They were printed as fact and it’s been a very difficult two months to see that, when the reality is it was just time. It was a personal matter, and we couldn’t move past it.”
