'Serious talent' - Manchester United fans stunned by former Liverpool FC starlet Ethan Ennis' wondergoal

Manchester United fans have heaped praise on exciting prospect Ethan Ennis after he scored a fantastic goal for the Under-18s.

United's youngsters were in action against Sunderland on Tuesday afternoon. Although the game eventually ended all square with one goal apiece, it was United's opener that got fans excited.

There were just three minutes on the clock when Ennis gave his side the lead with a wonderful strike. A long diagonal ball was hit towards him on the left wing by the centre-back and he took the dropping ball in his stride with an excellent first touch that drove him inside and away from a defender.

A couple of smooth stepovers took him away from another marker before then unleashing an unstoppable, curling strike into the top corner. The Black Cats would equalise on the 50th minute to share the points but the talk amongst fans after full-time remains focussed on Ennis.

The 17-year-old arrived at United from fierce rivals Liverpool, becoming the first player to make the switch since Phil Chisnall in 1964, in August last year. Ennis has been impressing in the Under-18s since, scoring seven goals and laying on three assists in his 16 appearances so far.

The winger's form has especially picked up in the last month, with six of those strikes and two assists coming in his last six appearances. Ennis' recent performances haven't gone unnoticed by supporters who believe it won't be long until he moves up the ranks to Neil Wood's Under-23s side.
