Sergio Aguero proves you should always meet your heroes with Phil Foden Man City admission

It takes an extraordinary footballer to keep making supporters smile after he has left a club, but Sergio Aguero is proving that he has got what it takes.

The Manchester City legend left the Blues last summer and joined Barcelona, before a heart condition cruelly brought an end to his distinguished career.

His retirement from the game was an emotional time for him and City fans, but on Tuesday he was back to putting a smile on our faces.

Aguero conducted a playful Q&A on his Twitter page and was asked by one user: 'Do you love Phil Foden?'

His response delighted everyone with even the slightest affiliation with Pep Guardiola's side.

"My favourite player now," Aguero replied, followed by a love-heart emoji. Kun might have missed Valentine's day by a good few hours, but there is no doubting that the Argentine has a lot of affection for City's 21-year-old prodigy.

Although their spells as key City players only overlapped by a couple of years, Aguero undoubtedly played an important role in Foden developing into the player he is today.

City's all-time leading goal-scorer took a 17-year-old Foden under his wing during City's 2017 pre-season tour, offering him guidance during training as well as being a friend off the pitch. In a heart-warming interview Foden gave to CityTV during the pre-season tour, Aguero popped into shot to tell Foden that he loved him.

On the pitch, the pair bonded well too. It was Aguero who assisted Foden's first Premier League goal, a header in a crucial 1-0 home win against Tottenham in April 2019, while Foden's first assist in the top flight set Aguero up to score in a 5-1 win against Leicester in February 2018.
