Sergio Aguero delivers verdict on Kyle Walker's future amid Man City uncertainty

Sergio Aguero hopes Manchester City don't sell Kyle Walker to Bayern Munich, but believes the club can cope without him.

The Bundesliga champions are interested in signing Walker with Pep Guardiola admitting he doesn't know where his future lies. Walker was left out of City's Champions League starting line-up in June and has one year left on his contract.

The two clubs are yet to strike a deal, with Bayern seemingly pooling their resources into a move for Harry Kane. Aguero wants City to retain Walker's services but doesn't think it would be a disaster if he departs.

"Walker was a very important player for the City and he’s important, but I think Guardiola has that thing that he likes to change players and try new ones," Aguero told Stake.com. "I think it is also because of the City’s way of playing and now you don’t need that much from Kyle Walker.

"So knowing Guardiola, then is when he would have told the club that if he can move it would be better, as he might not count with him next season, the next games.

"After all, it is a decision for him to make if he wants to go or not. But I think that in any case, they might need him both as an player or as a substitute, because he is a player who covers you a lot when you need to attack. He can still be useful for Manchester City, I think. I hope he doesn’t go because City may need him in some games."
