Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Graf, Seles: 10 greatest female tennis players of all time ranked

Serena Williams, Steffi Graf and Monica Seles are some of the greatest female tennis players of all time, but who is deemed the greatest of the lot?

All three have been at the top of the game for a number of years when playing, with Williams still competing with the best.

How They Play have compiled a list of their top 10 female tennis players of all time, let’s see who they picked and how they’ve been ranked…

10. Martina Hingis and Evonne Goolagong

The pair have ended up joint on the list for 10th place, with Hingis retiring with five Grand Slam wins in 2017 after a career spanning over two decades, winning a total of 45 titles in the process.

Evonne Goolagong is often forgotten about, but she amassed 68 career titles including seven Grand Slams, however the US Open eluded her.

9. Justine Henin

Justine Henin was always seen as a powerful player, earning over $20 million during her career, however she couldn’t achieve success at the famous Wimbledon. She did however reach world number one in 2003.

8. Venus Williams

One half of the famous Williams sisters, Venus has been in her sister’s shadow for her career. Despite that, she has been one of the best, she has seven Grand Slam titles which could’ve been so much more had it not been for Serena. She managed to usurp her sister and become world number one in 2002.

7. Billie Jean King

The prolific Californian won 129 titles which included 12 Grand Slams, half of those coming at Wimbledon. Billie Jean King dominated women’s tennis for the best part of a decade.

6. Monica Seles

Monica Seles’ career was impacted when she was tragically stabbed on court as a fan ran on in 1993. She was never the same after the injury, but she still managed to win an impressive nine Grand Slam
