Who is Coco Gauff? Wimbledon tennis star's age, ranking and career earnings

Tennis player Coco Gauff is bidding to win her first Grand Slam tournament at this year's Wimbledon Championship. The American teenager has been a crowd favourite at the famous All England Club ever since her debut at the tournament three years ago.

The 18-year-old was the fourth favourite to win the Venus Rosewater Dish awarded to the women's champion, with SkyBet offering odds of 10-1 earlier today (July 2). She is also the youngest player ranked in the top 100 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

Gauff is a former junior world number one and made her junior Grand Slam debut at the US Open in 2017. There she ended up finishing as runner-up to American compatriot Amanda Anisimova, who was also her opponent in today's women's singles round of 32.

Gauff is 5ft 9in tall and made her WTA Tour debut in March 2019 at the Miami Open, where she won her opening match. She rose to prominence by beating one of her idols, Venus Williams, in the opening round of Wimbledon in 2019.
