'Seen saying something' - Journalist reveals dugout interaction between Conte & Spurs outcast
Tottenham Hotspur outcast Pierluigi Gollini was spotted celebrating in the dugout on Sunday with Antonio Conte after their second goal of the game.
That is according to journalist Rob Guest, who noticed the out-of-favour Italian heavily involved in the jubilation as the Lilywhites doubled their lead.
It proved to be three huge points for the north London side on Sunday as they kept their Champions League dream very much alive with three points now the deficit to fourth spot.
And it was perhaps a surprise to see Gollini involved so heavily in the celebrations with Conte, given he has played just three times under the 52-year-old.
Conte’s arrival has seen Gollini’s game time dry up between the sticks, however, it seems the goalkeeper still has a presence in the dugout, as Guest highlighted.
Guest wrote for football.london: “Walking towards his coaching staff as he celebrated, the 52-year-old actually reached over to Spurs’ substitutes as Pierluigi Gollini could be seen saying something at his boss and reached over to high-five him.
“The pair then shared a very quick moment as they celebrated the team going 2-0 up before refocusing on the task at hand.”
TIF Thoughts on Guest’s comments…
Gollini is now running into the final months of his loan deal with the north London club and it does not look as if Spurs will make the deal permanent in the summer.
The Italian has not exactly impressed during his short stint at Spurs, however, it seems he is not causing any problems as a result of his lack of game time.
And this should please the Spurs fans as we do not feel they can afford to have any disruptive characters within their camp if they wish to land a spot in the top four this season.
