‘Seems to lack experience’ – Many Luton Town fans react as Hatters edge close to transfer agreement with West Brom

Luton Town are set to sign West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer, as per an update on Twitter from talkSPORT’s Alex Crook.

It was voiced on talkSPORT that the Hatters are set to lose goalkeeper Simon Sluga this month, with the Croatian international entering the last six months of his contract, although it is believed that the Championship outfit do possess the possibility of a year’s extension.

Palmer, who has spent much of the season operating as third-choice at The Hawthorns, has appeared on the bench when Sam Johnstone has been absent, with Saturday one of those occasions.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Lincoln City, a year where the Imps surpassed all expectations and secured a play-off spot.

It was a season that ultimately ended in play-off heartbreak for Lincoln, with Palmer playing all 46 games for Michael Appleton’s side.

Palmer kept 19 clean sheets in the league for the Imps, proving to be an important player in their narrow promotion miss.

The young goalkeeper has also enjoyed loan spells with Kidderminster Harriers, Oldham Athletic, Notts County and Plymouth Argyle, with Palmer still striving to regularly feature for the Baggies.

Here, we take a look at how Luton fans have reacted to this seemingly fast-moving deal…

It would have been 12 if it wasn't for him

If he's good enough to be trusted to sit on their bench then he's good enough to sit on ours and be a back up to Shea!

This could mean Sluga is on his way https://t.co/z8Gh8dobzI
