Sebastian Vettel yet to formulate plan for post-F1 life

Sebastian Vettel says he does not have anything lined up for once he leaves the Formula 1 grid at the end of the year.

The four-time world champion announced he would be walking away from the sport at the end of this campaign ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, just before the summer break, and since then the driver market has gone into quite the frenzy.

Indeed, the futures of several on the grid remain uncertain but one thing is clear and that is that the Aston Martin driver will not have a part to play in 2023, at least in terms of driving.

It remains to be seen what he is going to do next, then, with him clearly eager to try and spend more time with his family and focus on other projects that he cares about in terms of social causes, but whether that is enough to keep him occupied is something he, and we, will only learn in time.

Speaking to the press ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, then, it was put to him whether he might consider something like a non-driver return to Red Bull in the future, but the German said he has nothing lined up as things stand:

“I don’t know. At the moment, I’m not considering anything, because, you know, I’m stepping away. So, time will tell what will be something that is possible to do, if there is an offer of any such nature or not, and then I will see how I feel like at the moment.”

Vettel went on to say spending time with his children was top of the agenda once he hangs up his F1 gloves, and he’ll just how he sees how he feels once time has passed in terms of whether he wants to get back into motorsport in some capacity:

“I’m quite happy to spend more time on other things and look forward to seeing the kids more and stuff like that. And then
