Sead Haksabanovic in Celtic confidence surge as he jokes 'I would have scored FOUR' against Dundee United

Celtic new boy Sead Haksabanovic jokes he'd have gone one better than Kyogo and Liel Abada if he'd been given his debut against Dundee United - and scored FOUR goals.

The Montenegro winger wasn't registered in time to feature in the 9-0 rout so had to make do with watching on as his new teammates picked up an historic 9-0 rout on the road. Kyogo and Abada hit trebles while Jota, Josip Juranovic and Carl Starfelt piled on the misery for Jack Ross and his team.

But Haksabanovic is champing at the bit to make his debut and could get a run out against Ross County in the Premier Sports Cup during the week. Asked at a fan media press conference what he thought of the United game, he joked: “I would have come in and scored four goals!”

“No, but it’s a challenge for me to take their place (in the front three). But I am here for it. I am here to give 110% in every training session, for every game, for me and for the team. So, I’m just looking forward to getting started and to start playing games. Then, by playing more games, I can show myself.”

He also revealed he didn't take much convincing to ditch Rubin Kazan for Celtic after a chat on the phone with Ange Postecoglou. He said: "I felt very good, it was a good phone call. We didn't need a lot of minutes to connect. After it, I just felt like 'come on, let's do it now, let's fly now. It was something to look forward to."
