Scottish Grand National results LIVE as Willie Mullins horse backed in after flood of money
Ayr racecourse is buzzing for the biggest day in the country’s jumps calendar which is highlighted by the £200,000 Scottish Grand National showpiece.
A sell-out crowd is flocking to the venue for a spectacular eight-race card which is headlined by the four-mile cracker.
Willie Mullins arrives into Scotland fresh from his National success at Aintree seven days ago with six bullets to fire at the gig one as he hunts a repeat triumph.
His defending champion Macdermott returns for an attempt to go back-to-back with the market headed by stablemate Chosen Witness.
Mullins also has strong claims in the £100,000 Scottish Champion Hurdle with four entrants led by favourite Ethical Diamond.
Dan Skelton currently leads the fight for the UK Trainers title over the Irishman and he has key contenders on the afternoon along with superstar peers Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls.
As well as the two headline events, Ayr will also host six other races which include a good variety of young stars and experienced charges going for glory with the packed galleries set to enjoy a sensational day of action by the seaside.
