Scott Twine to West Brom: What do we know so far? Is it likely to happen?

The 22-year old scored 20 League One goals and earned 13 assists this season, with Liam Manning’s side coming 3rd in the table.

But defeat to Wycombe Wanderers in the play-offs has ensured the club will remain in the third division for another campaign.

West Brom are one of five clubs reportedly monitoring Twine’s situation, with a view to a potential transfer in the upcoming summer window.

The Baggies face competition from the likes of Middlesbrough, Burnley, Norwich City and Stoke City.

Twine only joined MK Dons 12 months ago for a £300K compensation fee owed to Swindon Town.

But the Stadium MK club will be looking for 10 times that should any team come in with a concrete offer for the player.

The former Swindon man has been a standout performer in League One this season, and has deservedly caught the attention of Championship level clubs.

Given MK Dons’ failure to even reach the play-off final, that makes it far more likely that the 20-goal man will depart the club this transfer window.

His performances in the third tier have shown that he is ready to make the step up the English pyramid.

The £3 million price tag on his head also shouldn’t deter the likes of West Brom from completing a move as we have seen a willingness to spend on players in the past, and this is a more than reasonable sum considering Twine’s talent.
