Scott Brown to make Celtic return as he prepares to lead legends in Borussia Dortmund showdown

Legendary Celtic skipper Scott Brown will captain the Parkhead side once again when a star-studded Hoops side faces off against Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The captain said goodbye to Celtic Park to round off in the summer of 2022 as he rounded off a glittering career before making the move to Aberdeen. After leaving Pittodrie he made his first steps into the dugout with Fleetwood Town - and is now in the Scottish Championship with Ayr United as he looks to steer the Honest Men away from relegation trouble.

But once the season is behind him Brown will make his Celtic return as part of Legends side that will face off against the German giants at Celtic Park in the summer. The clash on May 26 will see the likes of Marcel Schmelzer and Roman Weidenfeller make the trip to Glasgow's east end - while legend of both clubs Paul Lambert will manage the Hoops.

Brown is set to captain with Celtic stating that a donation will be made to Dundee Cancer Centre at Ninewells Hospital, in memory of his sister Fiona, who sadly passed away in 2008 aged just 21. Brown said: “Coming back to Celtic as captain of the Legends side will be wonderful for me and my family.

"I obviously spent a huge part of my career at the club and had so many incredible memories, so to return and pull on the jersey again will be very special. It’ll be fantastic to line up alongside so many former team-mates, as well as a number of other Celtic greats.

“I am also truly honoured that a donation will made be in memory of Fiona, it means so much to my family and I’d like to thank the Foundation and all the fans in advance for their support.”
