Scott Brown and Jay Emmanuel Thomas face Aberdeen uncertainty as duo's future up in the air

Jay Emmanuel Thomas is fighting to persuade boss Jim Goodwin he has a future at Aberdeen.

He joins captain Scott Brown in having his long-term Pittodrie future thrown up in the air as the new boss assesses the players at his disposal.

JET, who has a further year remaining on his Dons deal, has fallen out of the picture having not appeared in any of the last three match day squads.

Goodwin is looking for a more high-energy, pressing style of play.

Brown was assistant to Stephen Glass but has been told under Goodwin any first-team coaching would be limited.

The 36-year-old has another season after this one on his Aberdeen playing contract.

Brown was a candidate to replace Goodwin at St Mirren - along with former Scotland team-mate Steven Naismith - after he headed north to Pittodrie.

The Celtic legend made a pitch to the Buddies but the Paisley club eventually eventually appointed former Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson to the role.
