Scotland Women furious at 'outrageous' England theory as Scots WON'T lie down despite Olympic jeopardy

Rachel Corsie and Pedro Martinez Losa both slammed questions about Scotland’s integrity ahead of Tuesday's game against England at Hampden.

Scotland skipper and Aston Villa star Corsie, who has amassed 145 caps, claimed it was “outrageous” for anyone to voice a concern that Martinez Losa’s side would not be perturbed with an England win. The Lionesses need a victory – and possibly a heavy one – to enable Team GB’s progression to the Olympics in Paris this summer.

Scotland players would be available for selection for that tournament, although only Caroline Weir and Kim Little made the 18-strong squad at the last competition. England need to at least make it to the Nations League Final – or hope that France win it and, as hosts, qualify – with a number of observers pointing out this weekend that Scotland may not break their backs in this concluding Nations League Group A1 tie.

Sarina Wiegman’s side must top the group to have a chance of the Nations League Final and are currently level on points with The Netherlands. “It is so disrespectful,” said Corsie of the theories that have circulated this weekend. “To have played for my country for as many years that I have, to know the girls who sit in there, to know the ones who want to be here and the ones who are injured and can’t be here, it is outrageous to question anyone’s integrity. It is a huge insult to us. It is a game we absolutely look forward to.”
