Scotland squad for Six Nations announced as Gregor Townsend names 4 uncapped stars

Gregor Townsend has announced his Scotland squad for the 2024 Six Nations as four uncapped players make the cut.

Scotland kick off the showpiece tournament against Wales in Cardiff on February 3 and the 39-player squad has a mostly familiar look. But props Alec Hepburn and Will Hurd, winger Arron Reed and back Harry Paterson all come into contention hoping to earn their first caps.

Star man Finn Russell makes it as expected as the Gregor Townsend targets glory after a strong few years under Townsend. The squad includes 15 players from Glasgow Warriors, 13 from Edinburgh Rugby and a further 11 from outside of Scotland. After the opener against Wales, Scotland face England and France at Murrayfield before trips to Rome, to face Italy, and in Dublin to meet Ireland.
