Scotland squad for Norway and Georgia clashes named as three Lanarkshire stars earn call-ups

Three Lanarkshire players have been called up the Scotland squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Georgia and Norway laster this month.

Steve Clarke's side have already qualified for next summer's tournament with five wins from seven matches in Group A, but could still pip leaders Spain to the coveted top spot if results go their way in the final two games.

Scotland travel to Tiblisi to face Georgia on Thursday, November 16 before closing out the campaign at Hampden against Norway on Sunday, December 19.

And Hamilton man Lewis Ferguson of Bologna, Celtic's Bellshill-born defender Anthony Ralston and Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean, who hails from Cambuslang, are all involved in the 23-man squad.

Motherwell goalkeeper Liam Kelly is also recalled after winning his long-awaited first cap in the friendly against France last month.

There is some notable absentees with captain Andy Robertson out after suffering as houlder injury inthe defeat to Spain, while Muirhouse man Kieran Tierney and Cambuslang ace Kevin Nisbet, of Millwall, is also missing due to injury, alongside goalkeeper Angus Gunn and defender Aaron Hickey.

Uncapped Josh Doig is promoted from the Scotland Under-21s.
