Scotland no goal farce enrages Michael Stewart as he reveals UEFA U-turn and 'strange' factor alerts fellow pundit

Michael Stewart insists Scotland deserved clarity from UEFA over Scott McTominay’s hugely controversial disallowed goal after claiming the commentary team were told it was ruled out for a foul by Jack Hendry - only to then be told it was for offside.

The Manchester United man scored an absolute screamer direct from a free-kick but the wild Tartan Army celebrations were cut short as referee Serdar Gozubuyuk ruled it out after being refereed to the monitor and that caused huge controversy in Seville.

Jack Hendry was initially thought to have fouled Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon and Viaplay co-commentator Stewart described that as “absolutely ludicrous”. Fellow pundit Guillem Balague said: “The referee raised his hand but you could only see if if you were actually watching because at the time we were looking for replays, looking at each other for answers. But he did raise his hand to indicate offside at the point
