Scotland Euro 2024 venues catch punters out as draw heads south with Tartan Army set for 500 extra miles in Germany

So Scotland know who we'll be playing in Germany, but where?

The draw took place in Hamburg and after all the usual UEFA preamble, we finally got down to business. The Tartan Army have been booking flights and accommodation long before finding out who we'd be playing, and the scramble for tickets truly started last month when UEFA closed their Euro 2024 ballot.

Not that actually having a brief or not will determine whether thousands make the trip. Half the country will be trying to get to Germany for a first major tournament on foreign soil since 1998. Planes, trains and automobiles will be utilised in order to get there and support Steve Clarke's boys after a brilliant qualifying campaign. Now the task is to create history and reach the knockout stage for the first time ever. But those heading over will have to rack up the miles as the venues Scotland will play at aren't exactly next door neighbours, with many having booked to head to the north of the country and hedging their bets on where we will be based.

Record Sport takes a closer look at the venues the Tartan Army will be descending on.

Steve Clarke's men will open the whole show after being drawn in Group A with hosts Germany, and position A2 means we'll be starring on opening night in Munich against the hosts.

Just like France 98, Scotland are box office, baby. That game will take place on Friday 14 June in Bayern's state of the art Allianz Arena.

From Munich, it's a bit further north to Cologne to take on the Swiss. Our only goal and win at Euro 96 came against the Swiss, but Ally McCoist's strike wasn't enough to put us through due to the Netherlands notching a consolation in their 4-1 defeat to England.
